"Star" The Morepork (Ruru)

Linda works closely with local rehabbers of native wildlife and volunteers time and supplies to these cases.
"Star" was hit by a car. Luckily, the driver was a good samaritan and contacted the Department of Conservation who put him in touch with a local licensed rehabber, Pam Turner. When Pam brought this little owl to Linda, it didn't look good. "Star" had a broken radius and ulca (lower wing bones) and a broken tibiotarsus (shin) on his right side. Birds of prey are very reliant on being able to fly with precision and use feet to hold prey.
